These guys are Allie & Austin's 2nd litter(Kedge, AJ, Pepsi, Karma, Bella & Journey being from their first).

His baby siblings are 7 weeks old today! Spencer and I went over to help wrangle puppies for their eye exams(they all passed with flying colors) and to take some stacked shots of the pups.

This is Ahsoka, she's a blue merle girl who's going to a home with 2 boys of her own!

Ahsoka's side view. This little girl is on springs and loves giving kisses!

This is Moose. He is a blue merle boy that is looking for a show home! :)

Moose's side view. He's a laid back guy who likes to go with the flow. He reminds me a LOT of AJ!

This is Markie Mark. He's a red tri boy.

Markie's side view. I swear that I'm going to steal this boy. He's a talker and has a look at me 'tude. He can also turn into a wiggle monster and loves giving kisses!

This is Hope. She's a Red Merle girl.

So an update on how things are going here. Bosker is now 6 months old, 70lbs and 25 3/4in tall. Wowser, has he changed since we first brought him home! He has learned some of the basics, but has really been "spoiled" and just allowed to just be a silly puppy for the most part. :) I got the go ahead to start walking again, so will be slowly getting back into training with the boys. I can't wait!

In other news, we've had Kedge's brother, AJ, here for a little while. He was visiting while his family is on vacation and will be getting picked up by their breeder tomorrow to start his journey back home.

The boys have all had a blast playing together, which happily surprised me since they are all still intact. Zeo is in love with AJ and has been letting him have all the toys and also chase her around without so much as a lip curl. Amazing!Now without further ado.... a quick video and lots o' pix! :)

June has been a long month that went by fast, so I apologize for just throwing photos at you.

Bosker is, as of today, 22 weeks old and 61lbs. I'm guessing that he is around 24" tall, because he appears to be as tall as the baby gate, but I could be wrong. :)

I don't tell her enough that I am proud of her. We're usually too busy ramming heads over some insignificant thing, that is of course of the utmost importance at the time.

She has been helping out a lot lately, and today I asked her if she could take the dogs out for a bit. Then as a last thought I said, "Hey, you can bring my camera out too..." You would have thought that I handed her a handful of cash and sent her to the Mall. Well, maybe not that excited, but it was nice to see her get giddy over being able to use my camera unsupervised. Yes, it was the Olympus, but still! Any how, imagine my joy when I looked at the pix later that night. (For those wondering, no, she doesn't show them off, so I wanted to do that for her on here... )

May Days

So, lots of catching up to do. I had my surgery for a torn ACL on May 4th. I'm pretty much stuck on the couch or in a chair with my leg up until I get the go ahead to do ANYTHING from my Dr. I'm also on lots of painkillers, because it really hurts like the dickens. I'm not even able to be at the computer all that long, so its mostly me and the pups hanging out in the LR going nutz and watching loads of TV and Movies and playing insided games until Jay gets home. Then he is a saint and helps me go outside with the crew for a while. Well, if the weather is permitable, otherwise we just get to go stir crazy some more.

I've had to send my Rebel back again to get some sort of Battery problem fixed and will hopefully get it back soon. Though I guess it is a mixed blessing to be using my old Olympus, since it has such a great zoom (18x!!!). Lets say that it is very helpful in taking pictures when I'm in a stationary position outside. :)

Bosker is 16 weeks and is getting HUGE, not sure on his weight right now, but he's just a smidge under Kedge's height. I'll try and get Tori to get a weight on him for me soon. Really love the Wii Fit, it has a Puppy Section so that you can keep track of their weights as well. Not doing me that much good for a couple more weeks, so better than nothing. lol

We've started a beginners class with Bosker, I took him to the first class since it was before my surgery, and Jay and the kids will be taking him to the others. Its great seeing them bond and work with Bosker, though I do admit to wishing that I could just jump in there and do it. Its a good learning experience for them. :)

Kedge just had his big brag about getting his ASCA CD last month, feel free to look back and see pix of him with all his ribbons and whatnot. Sorry, just had to show off. I'm so proud of him!!!

I must say that Kedge has been a great help around the house with me not being able to get around much. He picks up things that I drop or if I can't reach them. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but it is a HUGE help! :) Jay and the kids have been amazing too. Its nice having a good support system to help out until this is over and done with.

Oh, and one bitty disclaimer, please don't mind the disheveled looks of the pups' coats. They are due for a good brushing and I'm trying to figure out a way to get them on my level without worrying about them stepping or bumping my leg. So its a work in progress. I might just talk Jay into bringin Bosker to the groomers a couple times, since he has that thick lamb's wool undercoat. We'll see how it works out today though.

Kedge got his ASCA CD!

Its been a hectic week, but I thought that I'd share the news that Kedge got his ASCA CD last weekend on May 1st, 2010!

A Basic break down-

"SECTION 3: Novice Exercises and Scores
The exercises and maximum scores in the Novice classes are:
1. Heel on Leash and Figure Eight 40 points
2. Stand for Examination 30 points
3. Heel Free 40 points
4. Recall 30 points
5. Long Sit 30 points
6. Long Down 30 points
Maximum Total Score 200 points"

SECTION 4: C.D. Title

ASCA® will issue a Companion Dog certificate to a dog with ASCA® registration or a tracking number, and will permit the
use of CD after its name, when it has received three (3) qualifying scores awarded by at least two (2) judges. (Each Qualifying Score is called a "LEG")

Kedge did manage to get his ASCA CD in only 3 shows, under 3 different judges. :) So now he is formally known as

"ALIAS' JUST MY LUCK CD CGC".

I finally saw one!!

This is totally unrelated to all my dogs posts on here, but I just had to share. For the past 4 years, I've always missed seeing any of the Black Bears in the area. My sister had seen one a couple years back, Spencer saw one last year, then both of the kids saw one last week. Well, I finally saw my first today, thanks to Spencer! He had the dogs outside and ran them all inside in order to tell me about the bear.

"He" was down in the field between our house and the road. If anyone remembers the mustard field pictures from last year, that is where.

You'll notice the bear start hoofing it towards the end, because Zeo started barking at her squirrel tree. I'm guessing that 'he' thought she was talking to "him". However none of the dogs had actually noticed him since he was downwind from us.

There is also a split from when I went from shooting the video out my window, then ran out to the side yard once 'he' started to get out of my line of site.

I am still sooo, excited!

{and no, I didn't check under "his" tail to see if it was a boy or girl. I'm just calling it a "him" for ease of reference.

Some new pictures that I've taken over the past 2 days. We've been stuck inside a lot due to the rain, but I finally got some outside pics today. My leg is paying for the outside ones though. I used my crutches to get to my chair and the kids were nice enough to carry out my blanket and stuff. There is a lot of difference in all the pictures since I was using my old and new cameras. Reason being that my old one has a nice zoom, and its easier getting some of the shots since I'm pretty stationary. :)

First is Bosker showing his Down, Sit, then Stand. He's picked them up pretty fast since I haven't really worked with him on them much. :)

Second is a quick clip showing Bosker and the crew practicing for a 'group shot'. Lots of treats and praise gets the job done! :) Pretty good for a 10wk old puppy!

One Week in the family!

I know that I just introduced Bosker on the blog, but yesterday was one week of him joining our family. :)

Some things that we are learning about Bos. He is a talker, which we knew before bringing him home, and I adore it! He gives his opinions, complains, argues, or just plain likes to converse with everyone(including his toys!). Bosker also has a bit of an adventurous and independant streak. He loves exploring and checking things out. Where my other puppies were intersted in following me around or at least keeping an eye on things, Bosker is comfortable in his skin and doesn't feel like he has to be your shadown at all times when there are perfectly good things he could be checking out. :D Another thing is that Bos thinks he's a tough boy. He loves jumping on Kedge's head when he's lying down and pinning him to the ground. I swear that he laughs while Kedge squirms and tries to get up. I asked for a spitfire and I certainly got him! *grins and does happy dance*

As for Kedge, he has matured quite a bit in the past week. We think its a combo of my injury and bringing home a new puppy within a couple days of each other. He's really stepped up to the plate and has taken over the Big Boy role in the house. Its kind of hard to explain unless your seeing it. I'm really glad that I taught Kedge, "Pick it up" since it comes in really helpful when I drop things right now. He's also learning to work alongside me even if I'm using crutches or the wheelchair. I'll try to get some pictures or video of him putting his working face on and going through his paces. :)

So back to the one week thing. Tonight I finally got some more pictures uploaded that I've taken over the last few days, and figured that I'd share them. I really think that Bosker seems like he is growing in front of our eyes! So here you go, some pix of Kedge, Bosker and the girls from over the weekened.

Introducing Kedge's New Baby Brother, Bosker!

This past weekend we welcomed a new puppy into the family. :) Bosker is an 8 week old Shiloh Shepherd(sort of like a German Shepherd, 'cept different). We started researching different Shepherd breeds when Faust started becoming ill, over a year ago. Then after losing Faust and Mojo becoming ill, we decided it ws the right time to start actively looking for our next furry addition.

Bosker was born almost a week after we lost Mojo, and we've been anxiously waiting for him for the past two months. He is from Ridgewood Shiloh Shepherds. Bosker was the Blue boy in the Haley/Sage litter and we enjoyed watching him grow from newborn to the little bear cub that we picked up. He gave me something to look forward to while dealing with losing my heartdog. I'm so glad that he is finally here!

Our first time seeing Bosker in real life and not just through the many photos his breeder sent us.

Things are going to be a little different with raising Bosker then the others due to the fact that I took a nasty fall the night before we were supposed to pick him up. So right now I'm on crutches/wheelchair and it looks like I may be like this for a few months at least. So it is going to be an entire family ordeal with bringing up Bosker. Its hard for me to relinquish even some control, but Jay and the kids are doing great and I am thankful for their help! :)

Trying Out Our New Obedience Jumps!`

We got our nice new Obedience Jumps*** last month, but haven't had the weather to try them out.

Until today that is. :D

Most of this was all new stuff to Kedge. We've done dumbell work on flat ground before. I only practice it with him for a few minutes, maybe every couple of weeks, since he picked it up so fast(no pun intended). I was proud and impressed that he instantly knew to jump the bar both on the fetch and then on the retrieve.

This was his 3rd retrieve, and you can tell he was distracted by Tori coming out to ask me something. Still jumped nicely though. :)

I then put the dumbell away and practiced a recall over the jump. This time you can see that he ticked it and pushed the bar down a bit. No problem, I just brought him back with no reward and had him do it again. Bingo on the 2nd try and jackpot with treats!

Then we sent up the broad jumps. Today was the first time he's even seen them, let alone used them. So we had them pretty close together. For the first couple of times, I actually placed the bar jump in the middle so that he got the idea that these were to JUMP over instead of walk over. I probably should have taken pictures of that, but was more focused on starting off on the right foot than the photos.

Then, to confuse the poor guy, I tried to have Tori run him through so that I could get a jump shot from the side. We did baby steps with Tori standing next to me, but with me calling him over. Then I had Tori call him, while I was standing there, then finally I went to the side and had her call him by herself.

First time was great!

2nd time... Hmmm Maybe the kid won't notice if I run on the side. ;) I just had her bring Kedge back to the start, with no treats, and try it again.

3 try, better! Jackpot and treats!

4th Try, hmm maybe I can run around the other side and just jump the last two? (again, I had her bring him back to the beginning, and retry)

Then last try was beautiful, so we jackpotted with the treats and ended it on a good note!

Afterwards we did do some wrap work that I was told to practice for our agility class, but I didn't get any pictures of that since "I" am still learning and its hard enough for me to remember where to put my feet and hands, that I couldn't possibly work the camera at the same time! lol All in all, I think we had a great first day of working with our new Jumps! :D

SnowSnowSnow!!!

This week, we've actually been getting a decent amount of snow! I took a couple pictures earlier in the week, but most are from today after work. I needed a destresser, so took Kedge and Zeo for a run in the fields during the snow storm. There was much romping, leaping, cavorting and snowballs...

I must say that I never realized how many snowballs a longhaired dog can pack into their fur! Maybe it was a combo from all the jumping and twisting, but wow!

Miss Kiderbee is having a break from Zeo after their scuffle. That, and the snow is pretty deep compared to her wee little self. So there are only the 2 pics of Queen Kida B.

We had lots of visitors today. First my sister was a life saver and brought Tori home from CT for me (since our car died) and I got to hang out with her, my brother and my niece for a little while after work. Then later in the afternoon, Francine came over with Katherine and Lily. They brought along Kedge's Dad-Austin(black tri), Uncle-Petey(red tri) and his Cousin-Wicklow(red merle pup) that was visiting them.

Kedge was thrilled to have some more dogs to chase and wrestle with, as well as happy to see his other 'people'. :) I took some pictures, but apologize for the darkness. It was pretty overcast, so they didn't come out as nice as I'd like, but at least we had fun!

The only sad part.... Kedge still whines at Francie's car, looking for his best buddy and brother, AJ. We had to let him jump up to check out the crates before letting Pete and Wicklow get in. Even then, he still wanted to keep checking them out. Hopefully soon, we'll be able to have a reunion with the boys. :)

February Sunshine!

Being that it is February up here, it has been pretty frigid. We missed all of the good snow storms that have been blowing up through the area, dumping feet of snow on everyone else. Instead, we did have one thing though... WIND! Nasty wind that almost instantly blew away any snow that might have fallen. It has also made going outside miserable and almost unbearable. So I haven't really dusted off the camera in a couple of weeks and but yesterday I was presented with the perfect opportunity.

SUNSHINE!!!!

(and even better, NO wind!) So I made sure to take lots of happy puppy pictures.... I think that they were just as excited as I was with the change in weather. So on to the zillion pictures!!! :)

(ps. OTOH, Today we got our first snow storm in a while... so I'll probably be posting some fun snow pix in a couple of days if it sticks around. lol)

We had a surprise blizzard pop in on us this afternoon. Kida disappeared in it for a couple of seconds, but luckily she knew where she was since I certainly didn't! :( I quickly put her back inside, but then grabbed my camera to get pix of Kedge and Zeo playing and racing in the snow storm. :D They certainly were having a blast! Too bad 'mom' could only handle it for about 10-15mins. Though I did get some fun pics at least!

Today was beautiful out so Tori and I took Kedge and Zeo for a nice long walk. Tori was nice and said that she'd help me get some gait and stack shots of Kedger. I also got to practice more on our heelwork. He's really coming along.

Tomorrow is Kedge's 1st Birthday. In honor of it, I decided to teach him Mojo's "put the dishes in the sink" trick, since Francie got such a kick out of it. I also shot some video of Kedge going through his paces in the kitchen(it was too dark and cold outside! lol). I figured that I'd post Mojo's original videos as well. :)
